Sunderland Marine supports the 2021 Tasmanian Seafood Awards

Sunderland Marine have been supporting the seafood industry in Tasmania for more than 35 years, insuring fishing vessels and fish farms continuously throughout this period. We have also supported the Tasmanian Seafood Awards for many years, this year sponsoring the Large Business Award.

Unfortunately, travel restrictions in Australia meant our team were not able to attend the ceremony in person.  A small price we know compared to the challenges that Covid have thrown up for all of the seafood industry.

Our thanks go to Tim Hess from Petuna who presented this award on our behalf. We could not have picked a more suitable representative. Petuna purchased our first ever Australian fishing boat policy and also our first Australian aquaculture policy. A continuous association with the company that goes back more than 30 years.

The Large Business Award is presented to a seafood company employing 10 or more full time equivalent staff, that has demonstrated growth, innovation, excellence in product, service and marketing and that has contributed substantially towards a positive future for the seafood industry.

The 2021 Large Business Award was won by True South Seafood. A leading supplier of premium Tasmanian and New Zealand wild caught live abalone and Paua, as well as the largest exporter of sea urchin roe from Tasmania.

All at Sunderland Marine would like to send our warmest congratulations to the team.
