P&I Claims – FAQ




  • 1. If P&I cover is purchased does this mean a crewmember or passenger is automatically entitled to compensation?

    No – an early investigation will be carried out and compensation will only be payable where it is determined that the accident was caused by either a failure of equipment or fault in the operation of the vessel by its crew.

  • 3. What happens if a crewmember employed through an overseas manning agency is injured?

    All contracts covering this type of employment must be pre-approved by Sunderland Marine before full P&I cover can be agreed.
